A Quick Update

Been mega busy here the last few weeks so here’s a recap of what’s happened and what’s coming up over the next few months.

First two shows of the year have taken place starting with a sold out Kirk Brandon aKoustiK show in the Green Room followed by an incredibly popular show featuring a relatively unknown band (although not for long now) called Working Men’s Club.

I think having promoted well over a 100 shows now the Working Men’s Club is one of the shows which has given me most satisfaction to promote. A young band, on the way up and full of attitude giving a great performance to a great crowd. I had wondered if it was a mistake putting them on in such a large venue as The Georgian but those fears were well and truly unfounded.

Next up is one of the most entertaining and energetic live bands around. A band who I have somehow Kept missing over the years so it seemed the only way to actually see them was to put them on myself.

Dreadzone are an incredibly popular live act and that has been reflected in ticket sales with less than 30 tickets remaining for the show at the time of writing.

What else is coming up?

Well after Dreadzone the return of the part time rock star, full time legend Pete Wylie who brings his “Show” to the Georgian Theatre on March 27th. Having seen the show in Hebden Bridge late last year I can confirm what a great night this will be. Typical Wylie, stories, songs, pathos, humour but most importantly those songs. The man is indeed a legend and it’s always great to see him live.

Lots to look forward to over the rest of Spring/Summer with shows from The Meteors, Ruts DC (Acoustic), Theatre Of Hate, The Pack and the return of the ever popular Space Agency in September. Also just waiting for final confirmation of what will be a very special show in July, hopefully able to announce that one soon.

Next Show – Working Men’s Club at The Georgian Fri Feb 14th

Well, Saturday was fun but we move on now and next gig is at The Georgian Theatre on Friday Feb 14th. It’s a show that I’m really excited about.

Working Men’s Club are a fantastic young band really starting to make a name for themselves and with good reason. It’s not going to be a full, never expected it to be, but with a couple of weeks to go sales have exceeded expectations.

Bands like this don’t come along very often, short and to the point, attitude to dance to. Don’t expect a long drawn out set, you get what you’re given, you’ll enjoy it and leave with a smile on your face.
