Independent Venues Week is an annual 7 day event championing local venues and the people who own, run and work in them bringing live music into towns around the country and often giving bands their first taste of playing live.
These venues, all local businesses, are the backbone of the live music scene and Independent Venue Week recognises all that they have done to create some of the most memorable nights of the past so they can continue to do the same in the future.
I’m very pleased to have been asked to get involved in arranging an official show at one of the venues recognised by the scheme as a venue that celebrates live music and goes out if its way to assist local independent promoters bring a wide variety of new and established artists to the area.
On Saturday 1st February a man who needs no real introduction to the Teesside gig going public makes a return visit to The Georgian Theatre Stockton for a show in the venues Green Room.

The Pack/Theatre of Hate/Spear of Destiny main man Kirk Brandon brings his aKoustiK show to the venue and is joined once again by the extraordinarily skilled Sam Sansbury on Cello. Kirk will be playing songs from the complete back catalogue.
Capacity is limited in The Green Room and tickets are selling fast so don’t hang around. Tickets can be bought on line via the Georgian web site here or via SEE Tickets here or in person at Sound It Out Records in Stockton.
